- What themes are depicted in Aleut art?
- When is art displayed?
- What is the purpose of the art?
- Do the Aleut people consider what we call art from there society to actually be art?
- Major influences in Aleut art?
- How old is it?
- Any commonalities with other Alaskan Native groups?
- Is the art of the Aleuts still alive today as it was before contact with white peoples?
- Are stories depicted in Aleut art?
- Materials used?
- Processes to create the art?
- Was the art in clothing? Practical or spiritual and ritualistic?
These are all important questions for one main reason. All the information I have found thus far on Aleut art is within books and not online. There is a lot of information online as well, but not necessary first hand knowledge or from a primary source. The solution is for me to make a wikki page so that people around Alaska or the word can view non-contrary information on Aleut art.
My responsibilities to the group include: Researching Aleut art and being the official wikki page editor. So i must learn how to edit and create wikki pages.
The only schedule for this project so far is to meet with the group on sunday to come up with our prospectus for our conference on tuesday. Besides that I will be working on research and writing ever few days so I won't cram at the end.
Looks good, Tommy!
